Abstract

This study aims to investigate the factors influencing the stability of Iranian families in the city of Qom. The primary objective is to identify and analyze various dimensions that affect the quality of family relationships. Given the importance of the family as a fundamental social unit and its role in the psychological and social well-being of individuals, this research seeks to identify key factors that strengthen family stability. The research method is survey-based, and data were collected using a researcher-constructed questionnaire. The reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient (0.935), indicating high validity of the measurement tool. The statistical population consisted of families residing in various regions of Qom province who had at least five years of marital experience. The sample size was determined using Cochran's formula, resulting in 400 participants, and stratified systematic sampling was employed for data collection.
Descriptive findings revealed that 98% of respondents rated the factors influencing family stability at a moderate to high level. Additionally, all six research hypotheses were significantly confirmed through Pearson's correlation test. Regression analysis indicated a direct and significant impact of belief-related, emotional-psychological, familial, economic, educational, and media-related variables on family stability. Among these, economic (0.412), belief-related (0.203), and media-related (0.142) variables had the most substantial influence.
This study provides practical suggestions for strengthening Iranian families, including designing educational programs for parents, establishing family support groups, and producing positive media content to promote family values.
