This study was designed to investigate the effects of Call of Duty on 11- to 13-year-old boys in District 10 of Tehran, qualitative thematic analysis method. Data were collected through purposive sampling and semi-structured interviews with 8 participants, game content analysis, response recording forms. The analysis method was based on Brown and Clark's (2006) six-step framework, which included: 1- in-depth familiarization with the data, 2- generation of initial codes, 3- development of initial themes, 4- revision and modification of themes, 5- final definition and naming of themes, and 6- development of the research report. The theoretical saturation criterion was considered as the criterion determining the number of samples; after the eighth interview, no new key theme was formed. The findings led to the identification of four main themes: 1- Positive effects of gaming, strengthening cognitive and social skills and reducing stress, 2- Negative effects of gaming, increased aggression, decreased sensitivity to violence, and the risk of behavioral addiction, 3- Factors influencing adolescent attraction, such as intrinsic game features and social pressure from peers, and 4- Cultural effects of gaming, especially representation of war and militarism. The results showed that the Call of Duty gaming experience in adolescents is the result of a complex interaction between individual, family, and social factors and the inherent characteristics of the game and cannot be analyzed independently of the bio-social context. Family instability is associated with increased gaming dependence and parental supervision is a key moderating factor.
