This study was conducted with the aim of phenomenological analysis of students' attitude towards the role of the university as a source of social capital in social interactions during the years after the Islamic Revolution of Iran. In this research, qualitative approach and interpretive phenomenological method were used. The statistical population of the research was formed by the students of the country's universities in 1402. The sample was selected through purposive sampling and 10 people were interviewed according to theoretical saturation. Data collection was done by in-depth semi-structured interview. The obtained data were analyzed using thematic analysis method and based on the foundational data theory and using the three-stage coding method of Strauss and Corbin (1990), during three stages of primary, secondary and final coding. The components resulting from the identification of the university's role in social interactions in 8 main themes (culturalization; social networking; planning and development management; increased participation; cultural occasions; socialization and trust building; legitimacy; democracy), 3 subthemes (cultural, social and educational) And 64 open codes were identified. It was concluded that the university as the main source of social capital has led to the creation of a network of cultural and social interactions between academics and the formation of friendship networks. According to the findings, policies such as cultural events, leadership programs and based on social environments that increase the sense of belonging and interaction should be considered and implemented in the university environment for the protection of cultural assets.
